Ranchi: The general public in Jharkhand has suffered another blow of price rise. The greatest requirement of every day to buy milk has increased the burden on their pockets. Sudha Dairy has increased the price of milk by 2 rupees per litre. The new milk rates came into effect on Sunday, April 17.
The new milk rates have come into effect from today. After the increase in the prices of one litre of milk by Rs.2, now the price of one litre of plain milk (toned) has been increased to Rs.47 per litre, half a litre of plain milk (toned) to Rs.24, cream milk to Rs.52 per litre and half a litre of cream milk to Rs.26. Earlier, the price of simple milk was Rs 45 per litre, while the price of half a litre of milk was Rs 23, while cream milk was available at Rs 50 per litre and half a litre at Rs 25.
Milk has become expensive in Jharkhand. The Bihar State Milk Co-operative Federation Limited, the milk supplying company, had announced to increase in the price of Simple Dairy's milk in Jharkhand. The decision has been taken in view of the increase in the cost of electricity, petroleum products, polythene, manpower, etc., as well as the demand of cattle herders. Earlier, the prices of Sudha milk were hiked on February 07, 2021, and September 21, 2021. However, Sudha Dairy has not yet increased the prices of curd. Obviously, the prices of milk have been increased on the basis of an increase in the prices of electricity, polythene and other substances including an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. Milk is an essential commodity and milk is used in the house of the common to the special. In such a situation, inflation will hit the people.
