BJP suffers another setback in Bengal, MLA Krishna Kalyani joins TMC

Kolkata: In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress (TMC) continues to shock the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Today, another BJP MLA took over the TMC headed by Mamata Banerjee. MLA Krishna Kalyani, who resigned from the BJP earlier this month, today took over the TMC.

MLA Krishna Kalyani joined the TMC in the presence of Minister Partha Chatterjee in the Mamata government. BJP MLA Krishna Kalyani from Raiganj had resigned from the party on October 1. A day earlier, a show-cause notice was issued by the BJP to MLA Krishna Kalyani.

The notice was issued to him after his statement against BJP MP Debashree Chaudhary in Raiganj. But the very next day, Krishna Kalyani himself resigned from the saffron party. Resigning, he said, "I cannot live in a party in which Debashree Chaudhary is an MP.
