Guwahati: On Sunday, another man was shot by the Assam Police, this time in the Cachar area. According to the police, the victim is a suspected dacoit who attempted to run from police custody in place to evade arrest.

According to sources, the suspect is Hussain Ahmed Laskar, a native of Cachar's Dhonehari Part II. The suspect was apprehended by the Sonai Police on Friday night in connection with various robbery instances, according to the police.

Officers found a.32 mm handgun on him after he was apprehended.  Following this, he told the police that he would show them where he had concealed illegal things, but he attempted to flee the scene during the operation. To stop him from fleeing, the police had to resort to controlled shooting, according to the police.

He sustained leg injuries during this time and was sent to the Silchar Medical College and Hospital. In addition to Hussain, two other police officers were hurt, according to the police.
