On Monday, Saleesh Vettiyatil's relatives filed a complaint asking a re-investigation into his death by accident, which is already in the dock due to a fresh case in which the actor Dileep is accused of conspiring to get rid of the investigating officers in the actress abduction case.

Vettiyatil's brother, Sivadas, has requested a re-investigation into his death, which occurred in August 2020 when his car collided with a median and killed him. Vettiyatil, who operates a mobile shop nearby, was the one who used to service Dileep's phones on a regular basis, in addition to acting as an assistant director in many of Dileep's films.

After an inquiry, the Angamali Police Department, which received the request for a re-investigation, declared the case to be an accident. Vettiyatil was driving the car with no other passengers when it lost control and crashed into the median, killing him. The relatives of the deceased sought a re-investigation when allegations appeared from two film directors that the event could not be dismissed as a simple accident and that a thorough investigation would disclose the true facts.

The police in Angamali are now waiting for directions from higher-ups on how to proceed.
