New Delhi: Union Minister Anurag Thakur slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's "turn off bulldozers of hate" remark on Wednesday, saying he is planting the seeds of hatred and accusing the former president of the grand old party of maligning the country's identity.
Thakur, speaking at a press conference here, said, "You can anticipate such utterances from someone whose own history is littered with corruption and rioting. He is spreading the seeds of enmity, and he is doing the country no good. He is merely trying to tarnish the country's image."
Rahul Gandhi said earlier today that India's coal supply is only good for eight days. He also urged the authorities to "turn off the hatred bulldozers and turn on the power plants."
"After eight years of loud talk, India now has only eight days of coal reserves. Stagflation is imminent, Modi Ji. Small industries will be crushed by power outages, resulting in significant job losses. Turn off the hatred bulldozers and turn on the power plants!" Gandhi sent out a tweet.
The Union Minister was responding to the Aam Aadmi Party's claims that the BJP is a party of goons. "What they say and do raises concerns about them. What could be more tragic than those who collude with terrorists in order to gain power?" Thakur also stated that 25,000 programmes have been held under the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" until April 18. "History shows that a nation's dignity is reawakened only when its traditions of self-respect and sacrifice are passed along to the next generation," he said.
