AP CM held review meeting for ongoing medical colleges work

On Monday, over discussion for construction of buildings to accommodate the newly sanctioned medical colleges, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy commence a  review meeting with senior officials. In this meeting he directed the officials to expedite the setting up of medical colleges in the state.

Here it is to be noted that the AP Chief Minister instructed the officials to hold talks with all district collectors to acquire lands for college buildings and make sure there was no paucity of funds. To be noted that they said that tenders have been awarded for the works of medical colleges at Paderu, Pulivendula, Piduguralla and Machilipatnam so far, and stated that for the remaining 12 colleges, tenders would be called before May 21.

However, here it is to be noted that CM YS Jagan also reviewed the implementation of YSR Kanti Velugu scheme. He asked to provide free glasses to the aged persons and also arrange surgeries for the needy. The officials told the CM that they had conducted eye tests on 66,17,613 schoolchildren and operations were performed on as many as 293 children to correct their vision. They said that 3,90,479 aged persons were provided with glasses-free of cost out of 8,09,262 people who got tested under the third phase of the scheme. They added that 41,193 persons underwent surgeries across the state.
