AP Government moves SC on three capital issue

The matter of the three capitals in the AP once again went to the Supreme Court. The AP government has approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's stay on gazette notifications issued after the Assembly and the Governor approved it. The government said in the SLP that the High Court had issued interim orders without conducting a comprehensive inquiry and without knowing the root causes.

This is contrary to the principles of natural law. The AP government has said in its special leave petition that it should quash the interim orders issued by the High Court as an expert. With this, the matter of the three capitals has reached the Supreme Court. The High Court stay on the Gazette notifications of the Capitals has put a brake on the movement of government offices in Visakhapatnam.

In fact, the High Court issued a stay order on the Gazette on the 4th of this month while the hearing on the capital petitions was pending. It also adjourned the next hearing to the 14th.  So the government has gone so far as not to say anything. In this context, the Supreme Court has opened the door for the government to take advantage of its legal opportunity. The relocation of government offices based on gazettes is set to resume if a positive result emerges in the Supreme.
