Andhra Pradesh: On Saturday, Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, and others expressed their deep sorrow over the death of Konijeti Rosaiah, who served as the CM of the then-united Andhra Pradesh.

In a message, the Governor added, "I hope for rest for his soul and express my profound condolences to the bereaved family members." Following the death of incumbent Y S Rajasekhara Reddy on September 3, 2009, Rosaiah was appointed Chief Minister of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. He was Chief Minister until November 25, 2010, and then became Governor of Tamil Nadu in August 2011. Rosaiah's death has left him heartbroken, Chief Minster said. Rosaiah served as a legislator, minister, parliamentarian, Chief Minister, and Governor during his long political career. In a statement, Reddy said that his death was a "devastating loss" to the two Telugu states.

Rosaiah was hailed by Chandrababu Naidu as a good administrator and economic specialist. Rosaiah moved through the ranks from student leader to state governor. "Throughout his political career, he remained non-controversial," Naidu said, recalling his long relationship with the veteran leader. Rosaiah has been a flawless politician, said Party head K Pawan Kalyan. He was the embodiment of values. As a member of the Legislative Council, then the Legislative Assembly, and finally Parliament, he made an indelible impact. His vast political expertise and wisdom would be remembered forever, said Pawn Kalyan.
