Produced by Apollos Entertainment with the help of National Award-winning director, Aparna Sen's 'The Rapist', Quest Films Pvt Ltd, the movie has been premiered at the International Film Festival of Kerala on March 19, 2022. The journey of 'The Rapist' was very noteworthy, the movie also had its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival, where it also won the prestigious Kim Jisiok award. This 16th movie of the actor-writer was shot in 27 days in central Delhi with the first and second wave of coronavirus.

According to media reports, 'The Rapist' is associated with the complex topics of crime, punishment and restorative justice. This movie describes the journey of 3 people who get connected to each other because of a horrific incident. The movie depicts an unshakable and uncompromising picture of sexual violence, as well as the socio-psychological consequences for both survivors and perpetrators of the crime.

Through The Rapist, the mother-daughter duo i.e. Aparna Sen and Konkona Sen have started to make a comeback once again. The film will star Arjun Rampal and Tanmay Dhanania in lead roles. This movie has garnered rave reviews in many film festivals, it is said that it is the financial work of Aparna Sen so far.
