Apple is stepping up its efforts to create foldable gadgets, including a MacBook with a sizable 20.3-inch screen and a foldable iPhone. A new report from analyst Jeff Pu at Haitong International Securities, cited by 9to5Mac, suggests that the 20.3-inch foldable MacBook could hit production lines as early as 2026 or 2027. Likewise, the foldable iPhone is anticipated to enter mass production by late 2026.

These foldable wonders are said to be aimed at the "ultra-high-end market," according to Pu. Apple seems to be eyeing two sizes for its foldable iPhones: 7.9 inches and 8.3 inches. This aligns with previous reports from analyst Ming-Chi-Kuo, who hinted at a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook in the works, though it might not hit the market until 2027. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman also chimed in, suggesting Apple could be working on a dual-screen, foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.

Adding to the excitement, a recent discovery by Patently Apple indicates that Apple filed a patent for a hinge designed specifically for foldable devices. This hinge promises a wider range of motion, capable of folding both inward and outward. Notably, the patent is broad, suggesting it could be used for various gadgets beyond just phones and laptops.

Meanwhile, Apple is gearing up for its 'Let Loose' event on May 7, where it's expected to unveil updates to its iPad lineup. Rumors suggest the iPad Pro might debut with the new M4 chipset and possibly an OLED display. Additionally, the iPad Air could see a boost with a larger 12.9-inch screen, a feature previously exclusive to the Pro models.
