The tech giant Apple can bring two new AirPods models this year. According to noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new AirPods may land in the market as early as the fourth quarter of 2019.
As per Ming-Chi Kuo the two new AirPods are most likely to go into mass production starting from the fourth quarter of 2019 and the first quarter of 2020, with Luxshare, Goertek, and Amkor - expected to be Apple's primary suppliers of the new AirPods. Kuo has stated that out of the two AirPods models, one of the new AirPods models will sport an "all-new form factor design" and also demand a higher price than the second generation AirPods. The second generation AirPods sold in the market retail for $159, roughly around Rs. 11,000 and comes with a standard charging case, and also gets a wireless charging case for $199 which is around Rs. 14,000. The other new model has been expected to get a derived update with the same pricing.
According to the research note by Kuo, Apple is planning to bring in a new system-in-package design for AirPods models. The new approach by Apple is supposed to change/improve assembly yield rates, save space internally, and reduce costs. Kuo, however, has not explained the changes from the outside.
