Mumbai: World's premier smartphone maker Apple can make India its manufacturing hub. The company started manufacturing in India in 2017. Since then, the company has recorded tremendous growth. Exports in the last two years have been minus 0.5 billion. According to a report published in a newspaper, an official says that by 2019, the company's exports can reach one billion dollars. The government is also making several efforts for this. Apple's headquarters are in the United States. In India, the company produces two models of the iPhone - the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 7. Earlier, the company also produced the iPhone SE in India.

By the end of 2019, the company can also start production of iPhone 8 and iPhone XR in India. The Government of India is also pushing for increasing manufacturing in India and making the country its major export center with the iPhone-making Apple, promising new incentives for the electronic as well as phone industry in the next two to three months.

Information Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that investment in Apple's manufacturing is very low. He said that the government wants companies like Apple and Samsung to have a strong presence here. After meeting with the CEOs of more than 50 electronic and phone companies, the minister said, 'The government will provide human resources, investor-friendly policies and incentives for manufacturing and export in the country. The country has recorded an increase in smartphone exports in the past.
