New Delhi: China has deleted the Quran app from apple company's store in its country. Apple's move comes after a request made by the Chinese government. The Quran App is popular among Muslim people all over the world. At present, there are 1.5 lakh reviews on this app. The app had more than 1 million users in China before it was deleted.

According to media reports, the action on the Quran app has been taken as illegal religious material. According to a statistic, the deleted app Quran Majid in China currently has about 35 million users worldwide. Apple Censorship was the first to report the operation. The website monitors the app in the App Store and shares updates on their activities. On the other hand, opposition to Apple's action has also started in the Muslim world.

The Muslim Association of Britain (MAB) has termed the move as Islamophobia. In the same episode, Muslim spokesperson and filmmaker Fadel Soliman called Apple's move shameful. Complaints of human rights abuses by Muslims living in China keep coming to light day by day. In the same year, news of the Chinese government's atrocities on Uighur imams in Xinjiang province made headlines. Moreover, many countries have already objected to incidents like the massacre of Muslims and their imprisonment.
