A robbery in the Apple Store near Treasure Island Mall took place this past Wednesday, when men in hoodies walked into the store late at night and stole the items off the shelves worth Rs. 2 Crore and ran off. Again, like the other recent incidents, the information regarding the theft came into notice in the morning around 10 am when the store was opened.
The incident occurred at around 2 AM after the store was to close at its usual timings. The thieves crept inside and it is doubtful that there were few burglars who went inside the showroom as seen on the CCTV cameras. Another similarity with previous Apple store burglaries, it seems the thieves had a getaway car ready outside, possibly with another accomplice. Also, 5-6 thieves were standing outside for safety.
Various iPhones, the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and 8, and even the new iPhone X was taken in this grand theft. The new stock of Apple products was recently bought which was also stolen. It is believed that the thieves might be the people who already knew about the new stock in the showroom.
However, it’s being considered as the thieves plan to sell the iPhones and iPads to naive customers anyway, who wouldn’t check the functionality before they buy it. Currently, the investigation is going on and police are now in search of the suspects. The Apple Store has been closed until the investigation is complete.
