The American tech company Apple (Apple) has introduced the most spectacular feature so far in its annual World Wide Developers Conference 2020, named Car Key. Through this feature, users will be able to unlock their vehicle without starting a key. The company has partnered with vehicle manufacturer BMW for this feature. The company will first support this feature in the BMW 5 series.
What is virtual car key
A virtual car key is a kind of digital key that works with the help of an NFC chip on the user's device. Users can unlock and start their vehicle by touching this car key. Apple is going to offer such a feature in its device for the first time. Earlier, BMW had supported this feature in Android devices for some of its vehicles.
This is how Apple's car will work
Users have to first move their Apple device next to the NFC reader panel to unlock the vehicle. After this, users will be able to unlock the vehicle through Face ID or Touch ID. Now to start the vehicle, users have to place their device on the wireless charger panel. After doing this, users will be able to start the vehicle by pressing the ignition button.
Apple car-key can be shared with family members
The special thing is that users can make a copy of Apple Car-Key and share it with five members of their family through i-message.
When will Apple car launch in India
Apple has not officially announced the launch of the car-key feature in India at its event. But it is expected that BMW will support this feature with the vehicle in the coming times to Indian customers.
