Apple will soon launch a foldable 5G iPad

At the MWC 2019 exhibition, Samsung and Huawei showed off their smartphones with folded screens of Galaxy Fold and Mate X respectively. True, none of these companies have been able to market their experimental products so far.

The IHS Market report says Apple is also developing a device with a folding screen named the iPad. However, it is not clear whether such a tablet will get a single-cutting screen or will it be made just as a traditional display book?

The device format will probably be close to the MacBook, which is not so difficult, given that the iPad Pro already has a maximum screen diagonal of 12.9. "As a result, a small tablet will be able to provide 13" or 15". Screen in extended state.

However, there is a lack of specifics in the report. So, although the information comes from supply chain analytics, there is no evidence that Apple is increasing its production of relevant components.

The analyst claims that the foldable iPad supports 5G cellular. Given that by the end of 2020, an iPhone with 5G support is unlikely to appear (given current reports), it's fair to assume a similar release date for the iPad 5G. However, this year it was reported that Apple tablets with support for the fifth-generation network could be released before the smartphone. Earlier, IHS Markit had claimed that the 16-inch MacBook Pro would be introduced in the fall and would introduce a screen with a resolution of 3072 euros 1920.
