Archana Puran Singh: "We are paying Raju a tribute not with tears but with laughter"

Millions of people were devastated recently by the heartbreaking news of Raju Srivastava's unexpected death, the "badshah of stand-up comedy." On the biggest comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show, renowned comedians including Vijay Ishwarlal Pawar (VIP), Khayali Saharan, Ahsaan Qureshi, Sunil Pal, Rajiv Thakur, Navin Prabhakar, Rehman Khan, Suresh Albela, Rajeev Nigam, Rajat Sood, Jayvijay Sachan, and Kettan Singh will come together to pay a heartfelt tribute to Prepare yourself for a nostalgic evening this Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9, at 9:30 pm, as the comedians honor the late Indian comedian Raju Srivastava by sharing their favorite memories of him and paying tribute to him in their own unique ways of comedy.

Archana Puran Singh will break down and be seen missing the late Raju Srivastava as the most well-known comedians in India assemble less than one roof to remember the "funniest man in the business" after years. She will stand up to remember her final moment with him and to pay her respects.

The first name that came to mind when I heard that all these well-known comedians would be performing at our show, according to Archana Puran Singh, was Raju. However, I soon realized that this was going to be a tribute to Raju. I must admit that the reason I stood up in front of you today was to express to Raju my sincere gratitude. I worked with him on a number of films and quickly realised that he was an excellent actor, but later on, stand-up comedy helped him gain more notoriety. He was a great comic talent, a stand-up, and an actor, in my opinion. Since we lost him too soon, it is heartbreaking. Just one week prior to being admitted to the hospital, he visited the India's Laughter Champion set and sat in the Sarpanch chair. And he said, "I want to live on this stage, and I find my fair share of happiness here," while standing on the stage in the very studio where the set had been set up. He told me that I was born to be funny and that if I had to leave this world, I would want to do so by making people laugh. It makes me happy that we are honoring Raju by laughing instead of crying because that is the only tribute he deserves.
