Vizianagram : "The most favorable sectors for investment in the district are millet grading, food processing, handicrafts, vegetable processing, jute related products, tribal products and mango jelly making," said investors and concerned to start industry units here on Saturday. Addressing the meeting with the officials, District Collector A Surya Kumari said. He said that the investors should be aware of the opportunities offered by the district and should know which are the favorable areas for investment and marketing opportunities for the products produced in the district.
He said that to attract investors, they are organizing awareness cum linkage program between bankers and industrialists on 28th October. He said that if investors can come up with innovative proposals, they will recommend banks to sanction loans. Investors can come up with innovative proposals and we would advise bankers to support them by giving them generous loans.
One of the participants, an industrialist, appealed to the state government to provide roads, water, electricity at Kantakapally where he is going to set up an industry in 40 acres. The collector assured them that the government would fulfill the demand. He said that he would set up driving schools to prepare skilled heavy vehicle drivers. Joint Director of Industries K Sridhar said that they have received 55 applications from investors. He said that they have given approval for 33 enterprises and 20 are pending and two applications have been rejected.
