BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Bhopal and accused in Malegaon terror blast case, Pragya Singh Thakur, stirred a political storm yesterday by calling the assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, Nathuram Godse, a patriot. Her statement created waves along the political lines in the country, which is already in the heat of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Her statement was condemned by the opposition parties while the ruling BJP distanced itself from her remark. Thakur later tendered an apology for her statement.

Reacting to her statement, Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor in a recent interview said that people are just canvassing for votes and there is no sense of responsibility. They just want to sensationalize and want to get more attention. The actor said that he hasn't heard any politician speak about health, education, and economy or climate change, instead of raking up issues from the past.

Arjun said that he will be shocked if politicians start talking about global warming and the effects it has on the farmers. The actor rightly pointed out that the politicians just want to be in power with their selfish agendas. The actor also said that it's unfortunate that we have those people who we are voting for and we have to live with these people.

On the professional front, Arjun Kapoor will be next seen in Raj Kumar Gupta's 'India's Most Wanted'. Arjun plays an undercover intelligence officer in the film that is on a mission to hunt down one of India's most wanted terror operative. The film is all set to hit the screens on May 24.
