New Delhi: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat paid tribute at Amar Jawan Jyoti on Infantry Day today. On Thursday, Due to the attack a jawan Rajendra Singh lost his life, who was providing protection to the Border Security Force (BRO) convoy, happened when the convoy was passing by Anantnag bypass near the NH 44.

Some youths pelted stones on the vehicle and Rajendra was injured due to a stone on his head. Subsequently, first aid was given to Rajendra Singh, and he was delivered to 92 Base Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Giving uproar over the incident, Army Chief Bipin Rawat said, "Jawan who lost his life after being attacked by stone pelters was guarding a border roads team which was constructing roads, and then we have some ppl saying don't treat stone pelters like OGWs(over ground workers) of terrorists".

Army Chief also targeted Pakistan, saying that Pakistan knows best that he can never succeed in his plans. He said, 'terror is another way for them so that the issue is hot. He wants to stop the development in Kashmir but the Indian state is strong enough to answer all of these and we are fully capable of running different operations. "

Worth mention here Rajendra Singh, a resident of Badena village in Tatrakhn, was entered to the army in 2016. Rajendra was a member of the Quick Reaction Team (QRT). He had a sharp stone injury  on his head.
