Wani was a resident of the Turkwangan village in Shopian, where the encounter took place on Tuesday.

DG Dilbag Singh of Jammu and Kashmir Police said that this joint operation of police and army was successful. Three Hizbul terrorists got involved in this. One of them was the top commander. Dilbag Singh said that for the first time, the number of terrorists in Shopian district has come in single digit. Explain that in the last two weeks, 17 terrorists have been killed in the valley, while two Hizbul terrorists have been arrested.
