Army pays tribute to martyred Indian soldiers in ceasefire violation by Pakistan

The Indian Army has paid tribute to its martyred soldiers Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy, Naik Satai Bhushan Rameshrao, Gunner Subodh Ghosh and Sepoy Jondhale Rushikesh Ramchandra, who made the supreme sacrifice on Friday (13 November 2020) in North Kashmir after Pakistani Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation. A solemn ceremony was organised at B B Cantt Srinagar. On behalf of the nation, Lt Gen BS Raju, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the gallant soldiers. 

On 13 November 2020, Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked Ceasefire Violations in multiple Sectors of Kashmir. Late Havildar Hardhan Chandra Roy and Late Gunner Subodh Ghosh of the regiment of artillery were deployed in Uri Sector whereas Late Naik Satai Bhushan Rameshrao and Late Sepoy Jondhale Rushikesh Ramchandra of the Maratha Light Infantary were deployed in Gurez Sector. In the unprovoked Artillery Shelling by Pakistan Army, these soldiers received multiple splinter injuries. In spite of providing immediate medical aid and evacuated to nearest military medical facility the soldiers succumbed to their injuries. Late Roy, a 38 years old is from Mhedhipara of Futkibari Tehsil in Dhubri District, Assam. He had joined the Army in 2001 and is survived by his wife and son. Late Rameshrao hailed from Kotal in Nagpur District, Maharashtra and was 28 years old. He had joined the Army in 2011 and is survived by his parents. 

The 22 years old Late Ghosh joined the army in 2017 and belongs to Village Raghunathpur of Tehatta Tehsil in Nadia District, West Bengal and is survived by his wife and parents. The 20 years old Late Sepoy Ramchandra is from Village Bahirewadi of Ajara Tehsil in Kolhapur District, Maharashtra and joined army in 2019 and is survived by his parents. The mortal remains were taken to their native places for the last rites, where they would be laid to rest with full military honours. Army made a statement, that, In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with these bereaved families and remains committed to their dignity and well-being.
