ISLAMABAD: The opposition Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has asked the military leadership to clarify its position on the alleged foreign conspiracy in the no-confidence vote against Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, claiming that silence cast doubt on the military's claim of neutrality, as per reports.

President of the opposition alliance Maulana Fazlur Rehman remarked at a press conference after presiding over a meeting of the PDM with PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif that if the Supreme Court rules against them, they have the right to appeal to the people's court.

The Maulana claimed that, besides him and Sharif, Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had asked military representatives who attended the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting on March 31 to express their views.

The PDM leader stated that the unified opposition would never accept the deputy speaker's illegitimate ruling, and that the country was on the verge of anarchy. He did say, though, that if the PTI wanted confrontation, they could have it. He said that the Supreme Court's delay in hearing the case was encouraging those who had violated the Constitution.
