Maharashtra Police took action against Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV, Arnab Goswami on Wednesday morning. He has been detained in a two-year-old case related to the suicide of an interior designer. This case was closed earlier, but orders for re-investigation were ordered in this case. Arnab has levelled serious blame on the Mumbai Police. He has also blamed the Mumbai police for beating him. Soon after Arnab's arrest, all the ministers at the centre came in his support and targeted the Maharashtra government. Even Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted on Arnab's arrest and targeted the Congress and its helpers. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra held a press conference regarding this case.

Patra said, 'Today we are raising voice for the rights of all channels, not just one channel. The mother-son mafia government has not only attacked the press but when the decision is not made in their favour, they do not even leave the Chief Justice.'

He further said that on one hand Sonia Gandhi writes articles and says that 'democracy is being killed' and Rahul Gandhi writes and says that he does 'politics of love'. Is democracy not being murdered in this case? Is this the politics of love? Patra made a big war on the Congress and said that the shoulder is of the Shiv Sena, but that gun, gunpowder and all that belongs to the mother-son who are fighting to end democracy in India. The BJP spokesperson said, "During the COVID-19 crisis, while we are fighting, we have created a government in Maharashtra that is taking custody of the reports, especially those who have questioned the Maharashtra government during the Corona epidemic." He said that when Rajiv went on a holiday to Lakshadweep from INS Virat, the Indian Express printed the story. The same attitude was done with the Indian Express then as is being done by the Maharashtra government with the reports.
