Lucknow: Police has arrested the accused youth who allegedly slit his girlfriend's throat on Monday night in the Vijaynagar police station area of Ghaziabad, adjacent to the country's capital Delhi. According to the information, there was a love affair between Mayank Pandit, a class 12 student living in L Block of Vijayanagar Sector-9, and a resident of the colony for many years. On Monday night, Mayank had called the student to an empty flat in Railway San Colony, Vijayanagar Sector-Nine. There, there was a fight between the two over some issue. After this, the young man first cut the vein of the girl's hand with a knife and then slit her throat. The accused fled from the spot after the girl was badly injured.
At the same time, after getting information about the matter, the police reached the spot and took the injured girl to the district hospital after investigation. The girl was referred to Delhi GTB as her condition was critical. Vijayanagar SHO Yogendra Malik said that the accused Mayank Pandit has been arrested. During interrogation, he has told that he wanted to marry the girl student, but she was still refusing to marry him. There was a dispute between the two regarding this matter. The matter had increased so much that Mayank got angry and slit the girl's throat with a knife. At present, the police have started investigation by arresting the accused.
