Born on December 11, 1935, Pranab Da's father's name was Shri Kamda Kinkar Mukherjee and mother's name was Rajalakshmi. Pranab Da started his career as a teacher and journalist, but then followed in his father's footsteps. He got a big break in politics when then PM Indira Gandhi chose him to go to Rajya sabha from congress. He did not look back after that and in 2012 he took over as the 13th President of India, India's highest office. For his contribution to the country, he was awarded India's highest civilian award 'Bharat Ratna' in 2019.
