New Delhi: Kapil Dev, one of the all-time greatest all-rounders not only of Team India but of world cricket, turned 63 today. Kapil Dev was born on 6 January 1959 in Chandigarh. India won the first World Cup in 1983 at Lord's under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. The Indian team created history by defeating the then number one and strongest team West Indies in a very thrilling match in the final. This victory changed the picture of Indian cricket. 

Every child in every part of the country started knowing Kapil Dev. Let us tell you that Kapil Dev was known for tremendous fitness, he played 131 Test matches in his career but did not miss a single game during this period due to tremendous fitness. More interestingly, Kapil Dev never got run out while batting in 184 Test innings. Let us tell you that an interesting incident happened with the great cricketer Kapil. It is a matter of time when Kapil was traveling in a train, then a beautiful girl passes near him. Then Kapil said to that girl, 'Would you like to take a picture of this place, which we can show to our children?' That girl's name was Romi.

According to media reports, it took some time for Romi to understand that Kapil had proposed marriage to her, for which she agreed. Kapil proposed to Romi in his own style while traveling in the train. Let us tell you that Kapil Dev had scored 5,248 runs in 131 Test matches along with 434 wickets. Meanwhile, Kapil also scored 8 centuries and 27 half-centuries. Apart from this, he took 253 wickets in 225 ODIs and scored 3,783 runs, including one century and 14 half-centuries.
