Today is the birthday of Shri Hanuman ji, an ardent devotee of Shri Rama and this day is also known as Hanuman Jayanti. But in reality it should be called Hanuman Janmotsav, because according to Hindu scriptures, Shree Hanuman ji, an incarnation of Lord Shiva, is considered immortal. That is why his birthday is celebrated as the birthday of a living person.

According to Shri Ramcharit Manas, Bajrambali fulfills all the wishes of Sri Ram's devotees. Hanuman ji is considered immortal. There is a legend in the Ramayana in this regard. When Sri Ram went out to find Sita along with the monkey army, Hanuman ji crossed the sea to Lanka in search of Mother Sita. When Bajrang Bali saw Mata Sita in Ravana's Ashoka Vatika, Bajrangbali gave Janakasuta the ring of Sri Ram. Disturbed by Shriram's distraction, Sita saw the ring of Shriram, then she believed that the Lord would soon free him from the captivity of Asura Ravana and that Ravana would be punished for his sins.

Pleased with this pleasant feeling, Mother Sita granted Pawanasut the gift of immortality. Since then Hanuman ji is immortal. Hanuman ji is Chiranjeevi, that is why he fulfills the wishes of the devotees immediately. In Kali Yuga, the sins of many births are automatically destroyed by his devotion.
