Patna: Sushil Kumar Modi, who has a deep hold in the politics of Bihar, is celebrating his 69th birthday today. On this day in the year 1952, he was born in Patna, the capital of Bihar. He is currently a Rajya Sabha member of the BJP, he has also been the Deputy CM and Finance Minister of Bihar. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
His mother's name was Ratna Devi and his father's name was Moti Lal Modi. Sushil Kumar did his schooling at St. Michael's School in Patna and after that, he did B.Sc. from B.N. College, Patna. Later he did an M.Sc. course and then joined the movement led by politician Jai Prakash Narayan. In the year 1990, he entered active politics. Modi married Jessie George in the year 1987, Jessie George is from Mumbai. Both have two sons – Utkarsh Tathgate and Akshay Amritanshu Tathgate.
In 1990 he contested from Patna Central Legislative Assembly (now known as Kumhar (Legislative Assembly constituency)). From 1996 to 2004, he was the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly. After this, in 2004, he became a member of the Lok Sabha representing the constituency of Bhagalpur. This BJP politician also has a deep connection with the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS). During the Indo-China war in 1962, at the age of just 10, he joined the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. After 6 years, in the year 1968, he joined the highest training of RSS i.e. Officer Training Course. Along with this, he was also made in charge of the Sandhya branch in Patna, the capital of Bihar.
