New Delhi: These days Bahubali fame actor Prabhas's film Adipurush is being heavily trolled, because of the characters of this film based on Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram, which are nowhere to be seen doing justice to their role. The film is getting the most criticism for Saif Ali Khan, who played the character of Ravana. People on social media say that Saif looks less Ravana and more like a Mughal invader. Comparing Saif's character to that of Arvind Trivedi, who played the powerful role of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar's famous 80s serial 'Ramayana' on Doordarshan.

In that serial, the life that Arvind Trivedi subsisted into the character of Ravana with his acting is still fresh in the minds of people. Incidentally, today is also the death anniversary of Arvind Trivedi. In such a situation, let us know an important anecdote related to his life and the character of Ravana played by him. Let us tell you that in that era, where people used to worship Arun Govil, who played the role of Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 'Ramayana', like a god, while started hating Lankapati Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana. Whereas Arvind Trivedi himself was a big Ram devotee in real life.

According to the reports, when Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Lankapati 'Ravan', had come to see Sankat Mochan at Ayodhya's Hanuman Garhi in 1994, Revati Baba, the chief priest there, got angry and said that I will not allow him darshan at any cost because he has been addressing Hanuman ji repeatedly as Markat and Shri Ram as a wandering forest dweller. Actually, Arvind Trivedi used to say this in the serial while playing the role of Ravana, but many people believed it to be true.

The administration got down on its knees to get Arvind Trivedi to see Hanuman, but the priest did not agree. Eventually, Arvind Trivedi had to return without darshan. After this incident, he got the couplets and chaupais of Ramayana written on the rooms and walls of his house, put a big board outside the house and got 'Shri Ram Darbar' written on it. Arvind ji started feeling annoyed that even though I have said correct but derogatory words to Lord Shri Ram many times in the serial, he started reciting Ramayana every year to atone for it.
