Gulati, who has been selected for his outstanding contribution to business and industry, has a very interesting and inspiring story.

Dharampal Gulati had studied only up to Class 5. Even though he has not received much book education, even today, big business leaders take inspiration from him. Apart from being a businessman, Dharampal Gulati was also a religious and extremely human being, donating about 90 percent of his salary. Along with this, he also ran 20 schools and 1 hospital. Even at the age of 97, Gulati used to promote his products on his own.

Often you must have seen him adding his spices on TV. He was considered the world's oldest ad star. He was born on March 27, 1923, in Sialkot (undivided Pakistan). After the partition of the country in 1947, he came to India. He had only Rs 1,500 then. After coming to India, he started running a tanga to support the family. Soon, his family had so much money that they opened a spice shop on Ajmal Khan Road in Karol Bagh, Delhi. The spice business gradually spread so much from this shop that today they have a total of 18 factories in India and Dubai, where spices are made and exported all over the world.
