New Delhi: The great scientist of the country, former President APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on July 27, 2015. Today the whole country is remembering this favorite president APJ Abdul Kalam, popularly known as Missile Man, was born on 15 October and died on 27 July 2015 in Shillong, Meghalaya due to a heart attack. At that time, he was lecturing at IIM.

APJ Abdul Kalam was a successful scientist. He served in the Defense Research and Development Organization and ISRO for many years. Dr. Kalam designed several indigenous guided missiles for India. He built infallible missiles like Agni and Prithvi through Indian technology. From the year 1992 to 1999, Dr. Kalam was also the Defense Advisor to the Union Minister of Defense. During this time, the Vajpayee government also conducted nuclear tests for the second time in Pokhran and Hindustan became one of the nuclear weapon producing countries.

Kalam was awarded the country's civilian honor, the Padma Bhushan in 1981 and the Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and the Bharat Ratna in 1997 by the Government of India. Kalam was a born Muslim but did not follow any religion at heart. However, he read both the Quran and the Bhagavad Gita.
