New Delhi: Voters have the biggest and most important role to play in forming a government in any democratic country. Voters hand over power to any party or party for five years with their precious vote. By doing so, the voter performs the duty of being a conscious citizen for the development of the country and the state. National Voters' Day is celebrated every year in the country on Tuesday, January 25. In view of the declining trend of people regarding voting in India, the celebration of polling day was started.

Assembly elections in five states, including Uttar Pradesh, are going to start next month. The first phase of voting will begin on February 10. From the Election Commission to political parties and all the candidates have been engaged in the preparations for the elections. The biggest reason behind celebrating Voters' Day is to make people aware of the vote. At the same time, the main objective of the Election Commission was to identify all eligible voters every year in the area with all the polling booths in the country, who have attained the age of 18 years on January 1.

According to the Indian Constitution, the people are the foundation of this unique democracy, where the people elect the government. The National Voters' Day was launched by the then President Mrs Pratibha Patil on 25 January 2011 on the 61st foundation day of the Election Commission. The Election Commission of India is going to celebrate its 12th National Voters' Day this time across the country.
