New Delhi: Born on 5 April 1983, Shikha Devi Oberoi has been the former Indian-American professional tennis player and formerly number 1 in the Indian category. She is the second Indian woman player after Nirupama Sanjeev to reach the top 200 in the WTA rankings. Shikha Oberoi's name is not new among people who like tennis.

Mumbai-born Shikha Oberoi spent her childhood in New Jersey and from there her tennis training also began. Shikha has an elder sister and three younger sisters and these five sisters play tennis, but Shikha, with her hard work and dedication, has brought the name of the country forward and played an important role in recognizing India in the tennis world.

Some important achievements of Shikha: -

- At the 2004 US Open, Shikha became the second Indian woman player in the modern era to win a round in a Grand Slam tournament defeating Saori Obata of Japan
- In 2005, Shikha reached the 2 WTA doubles finals in partnership with sister Neha in Kolkata and in Guangzhou.
- In 2006, Shikha represented India at the 2006 Asian Games, where she defeated Linda Ahmed of Bahrain in Round 1.
- Shikha was a finalist in Auckland in 2007
