We heard the story from the mouth of Bundel bards. She fought a lot, she was the queen of Jhansi.
You must have read these lines several times in memory of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi. The poem was written by poet Subhadra Kumari Chauhan for veerangana of the country. It was with this one poem that Subhadra Kumari gained fame in Hindi literature, which immortalized the work. This poem written by her was not just paper, Subhadra herself lived the emotion. This is proof that Subhadra Kumari Chauhan was the first woman to participate in Mahatma Gandhi's non-cooperation movement and was jailed several times. Obviously, she was not only a nationalist poet but also a patriotic woman. Subhadrakumari Chauhan was born on August 16, 1904 at Nihalpur near Allahabad. Her father Rajnath Singh was a zamindar and was also very conscious of Subhadra's studies.
Showing her talent, Subhadra also started poetry lessons from an early age. The first poem appeared at the age of 9 which he wrote on a neem tree. She not only wrote poems in no time but was also a pioneer in studies. Obviously, she was as fond of her teachers as her classmates. The process of writing poems as a child continued again. Subhadra was married to Laxman Singh. Laxman Singh was a playwright and always supported his wife in moving forward. Together they did a lot of work for Congress. Subhadra used to go among women and encourage them to adopt swadeshi and give up all narrowness. At the same time, she served literature and society while handling her household. Even at the young age of 44, she created a lot. Her major story collection includes scattered pearls, hysterical and simple pictures. Mukul, Tridhara, etc. are prominent in the poetry collection. Her daughter Sudha Chauhan was married to Munshi Premchand's son Amritrai, who wrote a biography of her mother named 'Mila Tej Se Tej'.
Born on August 16, 1904, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan passed away on February 15, 1948, at the age of 44. She often said about her death, 'I don't have the idea of leaving this earth even after I die. I want me to have a samadhi around which there should be a fair, children playing, women singing.'
