International Peace Day is celebrated every year on September 21 to preserve the spirit of mutual love and humanity among people all over the world. On this day, awareness is spread among people all over the world that we are not enemies of each other. The main purpose of celebrating this day is to promote peace and end mutual disputes among countries around the world.

The Day was launched by the United Nations (UN) to maintain peace between many countries around the world, end international wars and promote brotherhood among countries. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) first announced its celebration in 1981. After which it continued to be celebrated every year. On this day, on the occasion of International Peace Day, a variety of events are organized by organizations ranging from the United Nations to many other organizations.

The International Day of Peace was celebrated all over the world by the United Nations in 1981. After which it was first celebrated on the third Tuesday of September 1982. This was followed by international peace day from 1982 to 2001 on the third Tuesday of September. The United Nations announced its celebration on September 21 from 2002. Since then, International Peace Day has been observed on September 21 every year.
