PRAYAGRAJ: In a bid to ensure full security at the Maha Kumbh in 2025, Uttar Pradesh   Yogi Adityanath government will use Artificial Intelligence (AI), apart from drones and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

The Prayagraj police have proposed a budget of Rs 400 crore for equipment and other plans for the massive religious festival, the source confirmed.

As pilgrims, VVIPs, VIPs, and foreign tourists are expected to arrive in big numbers at Maha Kumbh-2025, the district police would protect their safety.  A presentation in this regard has already been implemented before Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during his latest visit to Prayagraj.

Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) will be improved, high-tech, better-quality CCTV cameras will be added, and their number will also be raised, said SSP, Prayagraj, Shailesh Kumar Pandey.

Security personnel will be able to recognise and track suspects thanks to high-quality cameras. He also said, artificial intelligence technologies would be used to maintain a close monitoring at every location of the Maha Kumbh Mela.
"Police officers working during Maha Kumbh will also be closely watched. Every police officer will receive an RFID card, which allows the control centre to track their precise location and determine whether they are currently on duty, he said. Special preparations would also be taken to ensure smooth traffic.

Prior to Maha Kumbh-2025, police accommodations and stations will also be improved, and barracks built during Kumbh-2019 will be renovated and made available to officers.

Shivkuti, George Town, and Jhunsi police stations would receive special attention. Prayagraj police have also asked for special boats and safety equipment. Police officials said hi-tech equipment and drones will be brought so as to avert any untoward situation.
