Arun Govil, who plays Ram in the TV serial 'Ramayana' based on the legend, is celebrating his 62nd birthday on 12 January. Even today, the image of Ram is not tarnished by the hearts of people. Arun, who has done films in many languages like Hindi, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Oriya, and Brij, has been away from the film and TV industry for a long time. He was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. He was obsessed with pursuing a career in acting while studying in Meerut College. After which he moved to Mumbai. Even though the acting career of Ram of TV is over but he still lives like a God in the hearts of people. His first film was 'Paheli' which came in 1977.
After this film, he was seen in the film 'Sawan Ko Aane Do'. Arun made his TV debut with Ramanand Sagar's serial 'Vikram-Betal'. In this, he played the role of King Vikramaditya. After this, he also got the role of Ram in Ramayana. However, it was extremely difficult for Arun to get the role of Ram. On one hand, he mentioned this in an interview. He had told that initially, Ramanand Sagar had rejected him for the role of Ram because he wanted the person playing the character of Ram to really get away from any bad addiction. He smoked cigarettes. To get this role, Arun gave up smoking cigarettes. Since then, he has not even touched cigarettes. He has been away from acting for many years.
