Police stated on Monday that a pick-up van ferrying the women skidded off the road and plummeted into a gorge in Arunachal Pradesh's Kra Daadi district, killing four women and injuring 15 others, nine of whom were critically injured.

According to Superintendent of Police Dusu Kaling, the accident occurred on Sunday evening as the passengers were travelling from Tali to Palin after attending a fellowship programme. According to him, the truck went off the road near Kumey bridge point in Kuwa and plunged into a 20-meter-deep gorge above the Kumey River.

According to Kaling, four female passengers died on the spot, while nine others had serious injuries and six others suffered minor injuries. According to the police, the critically injured have been sent to Itanagar, while the remainder are being treated at Palin. He stated there were only four men in the car, including the driver, and the rest were women.

SP said that the deceased have been named as Bohu Poyum, Nich Nenia, Toku Yachi, and Goda Yayak. The accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle while mounting a slope, and the pick-up van slid downhill before crashing into the canyon, according to Tali Circle Officer (CO) Jina Bagang.
