Itanagar: 342 new corona cases were registered in the Arunachal region on Thursday, raising the number of infected people in the northeastern state to 47,142. A health department official has informed us in this regard. State Monitoring Officer (SSO) Dr. Lobsang Zampa said that in the last two days, the death toll due to the death of three more patients infected with the coronavirus during treatment in hospitals has increased to 224.
Lobsang Zampa said a 72-year-old woman from the Capital Complex area died of corona as well as respiratory illness at a hospital in Chimpu on Wednesday. Another 40-year-old woman from Lohit district was found to be infected with corona and lost her life at a health facility in Pasighat in the eastern Siang district on Tuesday, the official said. A 65-year-old corona patient from Changlang also died at a hospital in the Tinsukia district of Assam on Tuesday.
The capital complex area recorded the highest number of 109 new cases, followed by Lower Subansiri (48), East Siang (23), West Kameng (22), Papumpare (14), and Lohit, Upper Subansiri, and Lower Dibang Valley (13 each). The rest of the new cases were registered from several other districts. SSO said at least 320 fresh cases were detected through rapid antigen tests, 13 cases were detected through RT-PCR and 9 cases were detected through the true net method.
