Itanagar: A senior official of Arunachal Pradesh's health department said on Saturday that 227 more people have been confirmed infected in the state, taking the number of infected in the border state to 49,668. State Monitoring Officer (SSO) Dr. Lobsang Zampa said the death toll from corona infection in the northeastern state rose to 237, including the death of another patient on Friday.
The official said that the area of Itanagar recorded the highest number of infections, i.e., 53 new cases, followed by 44 cases in Lower Subansiri, 24 in Lohit, 12 in West Kameng, 11 in East Siang, 10 each in Tawang and Lower Siang. SSO said new cases have also been registered from Upper Subansiri, Namsai, Lower Dibang Valley, Anjo, Papumpare, West Siang, Changlang, Upper Siang, East Kameng, Kamle, Leparda, Siang, Dibang Valley, Kra Dadi, and Longding districts.
The official said that out of 227 latest cases, 214 cases were reported through antigen tests, while nine were detected through RT-PCR and four by true net method, the official said, saying 86 people had symptoms of coronavirus. Zampa said there are currently 3,032 active Covid-19 cases in the state, while 46,399 people have recovered from the disease, including 420 patients. The official said the recovery rate of Covid-19 in the state is now 93.42 percent, while the active percentage is 6.10 and the positive rate is 4.68 percent.
