The number of persons infected with COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh has risen to 58,803 after 532 more people tested positive for the virus on Saturday, the highest number this month, data revealed by senior Health Department official. On Friday, the state had recorded 449 infections.

According to the official, there were 181 instances in the Capital Complex Region, 49 in the Lower Dibang Valley, 45 in Tirap, 43 in Namsai, 36 in Changlang, 34 in Lohit, and 26 in Papumpare. According to him, the new instances include an ITBP jawan and an NDRF employee. State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa, the death toll has remained at 282 since no new deaths have been reported in the last 24 hours.

So far, 55,861 people have recovered from the disease, including 132 on Friday, according to Jampa, who added that the recovery rate in the state remained at 95%.

485 new cases were discovered using rapid antigen test, 13 through RT-PCR, and 34 through TrueNAT methods, with 281 of them developing COVID-19 symptoms. There are now 2,660 active cases in Arunachal Pradesh.
