New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has said on Monday that Delhi faced a very serious situation during the epidemic, but the health system was not demolished due to reforms and better management in recent years. Kejriwal said that in many developed countries and cities like New York, the health system had collapsed, but there was no such situation in Delhi because of the steps like quarantine at home.

Kejriwal said that more than 3.12 lakh patients were healthy in home quarantine and the system first started in Delhi and the world's first plasma bank was also established. So far 4,929 people have been healthy due to plasma therapy. Kejriwal said, even after the income tax revenue was reduced due to the epidemic, the government managed to pay salaries to its employees and maintain other welfare schemes including free power supply.

Kejriwal said in a Delhi government programme that the electricity charges of 38 lakh households have come to zero in the final payment cycle, while the water bill of 14 lakh domestic users has come to zero. He also unfurled the national flag in the event.
