New Delhi: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal says it is my responsibility to clean the River Yamuna and I am confident that I will do it. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi has been accused of foaming and dirt of Ammonia floating in the Yamuna for the past few days. On the occasion of Chhath Puja, devotees of Delhi have been forced to take a dip in the chemical lying dirty water of Yamuna.

Now, speaking to the media, Kejriwal said, "For the last three to four days, there have been allegations. It is my responsibility to clean the Yamuna, whether the dirt in the Yamuna is coming from Haryana, whether coming from Uttar Pradesh or elsewhere. I won't blame anyone, it's a 70-year problem, not two days.''  Kejriwal further said, "At the time of elections, I have asked the people of Delhi for 5 years. I said, "In the next election, I will take a dip in the Yamuna myself, take you a dip in clean water, otherwise don't vote for me." Give me some time, we're working on it.'

I am reviewing it every 15 days, Kejriwal further said. The problem of 70 years will not be cured in two days, but I am sure we will clear it by the next election. I sincerely hope that by the way we are working, we will clean it up by the next election. We won't accuse anyone else of it, I'm sure I'll clean it up.
