New Delhi: Following global concern over the new COVID-19 variant Omicron, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will convene a meeting on Tuesday to assess the state of readiness for Omicron and a possible third wave.

"CM @ArvindKejriwal will hold a meeting with the concerned officials on Tuesday, November 30 at 11 a.m. to review the preparedness of Delhi in the wake of the new COVID-19 variation and third wave," the Office of the Chief Minister of Delhi tweeted. The Delhi government announced on Monday that all travellers coming from six high-risk nations will be subjected to RT-PCR tests.

On Monday, the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held its 27th meeting, which was chaired by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. "It was agreed that travellers travelling from these impacted countries would need to take a required RT-PCR test, and samples from those who tested positive would be submitted for genome sequencing," Baijal stated in a tweet.

Belgium, Israel, Hong Kong, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and South Africa are among the six Omicron-affected countries discussed during today's meeting, according to sources. Today's discussion also discussed ways to restrict the spread of the new Covid-19 version 'Omicron.'
