NEW DELHI: Due to the ongoing work at the Wazirabad water treatment plant in the capital, water scarcity is likely to persist in many areas of Delhi today and tomorrow. According to the Delhi Jal Board, there may be water problems from 9 am to 21st June. This includes the mound of Majnu, The Kashmiri Gate, Subhash Park, Nirman Colony, Nehru Vihar, Gandhi Vihar, Dhaka village, Dhirpur, Chandni Chowk, Ballymaran, Jama Masjid, Dariyaganj, etc.

According to information, a protest was staged by the Delhi BJP on Wednesday over the long-running water shortage in Janakpuri area of Delhi. Meanwhile, BJP Yuva Morcha, Mahila Morcha and district level activists staged a matki burst protest against CM Kejriwal. Activists said the Delhi government has proved to be a complete failure in providing water and electricity supply to the people.

At the same time, activists at Mata Chanan Devi Chowk staged a matki burst and shouted slogans against CM Kejriwal. Meanwhile, the former mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation said that the Delhi Jal Board is taking advantage of the water tank mafia water shortage to loot the people. Sitapuri and Milap Nagar wards are the worst hit with water.
