Indore: A shocking case has recently emerged from Madhya Pradesh's Indore (Indore) district. In fact, the wife was divorced in a succession at the common intersection owing to stated non-fulfilment of the demand for motorbikes in Dowry. In this situation, a FIR has been filed against the accused husband. The matter was reported to the police yesterday.
"The 22-year-old woman from Kesarwardi, about 35 kilometres from Indore, lodged an FIR on Saturday stating that her husband Joher yelled her "divorce, divorce, divorce" at the village's common crossroads and begged that their marital relationship be considered over immediately," police said. In this case, the police official paraphrased the claims as claiming that Joher and his mother Taslim had been tormenting the complainant woman emotionally and physically for the previous two years since her parents had not provided the in-laws a motorcycle as dowry.
When the alleged dowry demand was not met, the woman was threatened with divorce by her husband and mother-in-law for a long time. On the complaint of the woman in the case, an FIR has been filed against her husband and mother-in-law under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights to Marriage) Act, 2019 and Section 498-A (cruelty to a woman by her husband or spouse). The matter is still under investigation, according to the police officer, and the suspects have not yet been apprehended.
