Backing actor-politician Kamal Haasan's "first terrorist was Hindu" remark, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday asked how Mahatma Gandhi's killer can be called great. "The person who had killed Mahatma Gandhi should be called a terrorist. What else should we call such a person who killed Bapu," Owaisi told reporters here.

Owaisi's remarks came a day after Kamal Haasan raked up a controversy over his comment that independent India's first "terrorist was a Hindu"-- Nathuram Godse who killed Mahatma Gandhi. The BJP had approached the Election Commission seeking action against the actor-politician for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

"Those who forget the assassination of the national father do not love him. All those who were involved in the killing of Mahatma Gandhi were terrorists. The enquiry was conducted under Kapur commission and those who were found guilty of killing Mahatma Gandhi were terrorists" added Owaisi.

Mr. Owaisi also said that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President and Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was on the right path in his efforts to form a non BJP, non-congress Federal Front. "It is a right move by KCR. This is KCR's reply to all those who have questioned his secular credentials."

"KCR met Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, DMK chief MK Stalin and Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to clear the air on the issue," Owaisi added.
