Patna: Asaduddin Owaisi is busy strengthening his hold. This time Owaisi's party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has announced to enter the Bihar Assembly elections with full preparation. The AIMIM, which contested elections on only 6 seats in 2015, has announced a tally for 50 seats so far this time, however, the names of the candidates have not been announced.

The President of Bihar unit of AIMIM, Akhtarul Iman has announced to field candidates for 18 more seats on Tuesday. Earlier on June 10, it was already announced to contest elections on 32 seats. Thus Owaisi's party has so far announced the names of 50 assembly seats. Most of these seats are from Muslim dominated Seemanchal area. AIMIM is set to contest elections from Kochadhaman, Kishanganj, Bahadurganj, Thakurganj, Kasba, Araria, Narpatganj, Chhatarpur, Pranpur, Jale, Darbhanga, Sugauli, Bhagalpur, Gaya, Purnia, Dhamdaha, Piro and Manihari assembly seats in this time election.

Akhtarul Iman claimed that the present Nitish Kumar government in the state was anti-development, claiming that Asaduddin Owaisi's party would overthrow the Nitish government this time. Akhtarul Iman has said that he has no refrain in joining any such party or coalition in the assembly elections which is against the NDA. Akhtarul Iman also dismissed allegations that Asaduddin Owaisi's party is trying to help the BJP by contesting this year's Bihar assembly elections.
