Hyderabad: Political mercury is at its peak before the assembly elections in West Bengal. On one hand, the police in Ghosh Pada of North 24 Parganas did not allow the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Parivartan Yatra, on the other hand, Asaduddin Owaisi in Matiaburj, Kolkata had to cancel his rally because the administration did not allow it here too.

Police have not given any official statement behind not allowing AIMIM's rally in Matiaburj, but police sources said that the rally was not allowed in view of the possibility of disturbances. Matiabarj is a Muslim dominated area situated on the banks of Kolkata and South 24 Parganas. In this case, Asaduddin Owaisi said that you allow Amit Shah, BJP, but why not me, I will definitely go to Bengal, the big question is can you stop me, all political parties are organizing the rally, I only is not being allowed, Congress stopped me in Maharashtra, Akhilesh stopped me in UP, this is wrong.

According to All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Jamir-ul-Hasan in Kolkata, he sought permission for the rally 10 days ago, but until a day before the police did not respond and finally refused. No reason has been given for not giving permission.
